To turn the phone on, press and hold the Power key.
Press the Home button.
Tap your language.
Tap your country.
Tap Connect to iTunes.
Note: If Use Cellular Connection is displayed, the device can be activated using the cellular network.
If prompted to continue without Wi-Fi, tap an option.
Connect the iPhone to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Once the iPhone is connected, the iTunes application will open automatically.
The first time the iPhone is connected to iTunes, a welcome screen is displayed. Click Continue.
If this is not the first time connecting to iTunes, click the preferred setup option, then click Continue.
Click Get Started.
If needed, adjust the sync options as needed, then click Sync.
A backup will be created in iTunes automatically. Once the initial backup is complete, unplug the iPhone from the computer.
The activation is complete, unplug the USB cable and continue the initial setup on the iPhone.
Tap a Location Services option.
Place your finger or thumb on the Home key to set up Touch ID.
Otherwise, tap Set Up Touch ID Later.
Note: Touch ID may be set up at any time from the Settings menu, or see the Set up Touch ID tutorial for further assistance.
To create a passcode, enter a six digit passcode.
Note: To select a different passcode format, tap Passcode Options, then choose an option.
Re-enter your passcode to confirm.
Tap an option for Apps & Data.
Enter the email address that is associated with your Apple ID, then enter the Password.
Two-Factor Authentication is a security method used by Apple to verify who is accessing your account.
If Two-Factor Authentication was configured on a previous device, follow the prompts to continue. Otherwise, tap an option for Apple ID Security.
To skip this step, tap Not Now.
Note: The Two-Factor Authentication code will be required every time your Apple ID is entered on a new device. The verification code will be displayed automatically on all of your trusted devices, or it will be sent to a trusted phone number.
Read the Terms and Conditions, then tap Agree.
Note: If prompted, read the Terms and Conditions alert message, then tap Agree one more time.
To add a card to Apple Pay, using the iPhone camera, position your card within the frame displayed on the screen.
Alternatively, enter the card number manually by tapping Enter Card Details Manually.
Otherwise, tap Set Up Later in Wallet.
Tap an option for iCloud Keychain.
Note: If prompted, tap Continue.
Tap an option for Siri, Apple's virtual assistant.
If the option to Set Up Siri was selected in the previous step, follow the prompts to teach Siri to respond to your voice.
Note: To skip the training process, tap Set Up "Hey Siri" Later.
Tap an option for Diagnostics.
Tap an option for App Analytics.
Tap Get Started.
The phone is now ready for use.
