On the TalkBack activation screen, to view and enable the device accessibility options, tap Accessibility settings.
Tap to select a language, then tap Next.
To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap the network name.
Note: To continue without connecting to a Wi-Fi network, tap Next.
If the device was reset with Device Protection enabled, a Wi-Fi connection will be required to continue and complete the Google account authentication.
Enter a password, if prompted, then tap CONNECT.
If the device is not already active, it will automatically run Hands Free Activation, then update the PRL.
The device will restart.
When the device restarts, it will check for firmware updates.
If an update is available, follow the prompts to download and install the update.
Otherwise, tap OK.
A Google account is required to access a variety of Google services or to purchase and download content from the Play Store.
Enter the email address for your Google account and tap NEXT.
Note: If prompted, tap the preferred option for Allow Google to regularly check device activity.
Enter your Google account Password, then tap NEXT.
Note: Google Device Protection is automatically enabled when a Google account is added to the device. Device Protection uses the Google account to prevent others from activating the device if it is lost or stolen.
To restore data from a previous device backup, tap the preferred backup from Restore from this backup, tap NEXT, and follow the prompts.
To continue without restoring a previous backup, ensure Set up as new device is selected and tap NEXT.
To protect your phone's data, tap SET SCREEN LOCK NOW and follow the prompts to set up a Pattern, PIN or Password.
Otherwise, tap SKIP.
Note: You will be required to enter your Screen lock Pattern, PIN or Password prior to starting a factory reset of the device.
Review the warning message and tap SKIP ANYWAY.
Scroll to and tap to check or uncheck the preferred Google services, then tap NEXT.
Read the EULA (End-User License Agreement).
To continue, tap to check I agree, then tap Next.
If prompted with a Connections Optimizer message, tap I Agree.
Note: If prompted, tap OK after the Virgin Mobile Default is installed.
The device is now set up and ready for use.
Note: If a Smart Contacts message displays, swipe left, tap I don't want to use this, then tap YES, DISABLE. Once finished, tap OK.
