On the TalkBack activation screen, to view and enable the device accessibility options, tap Accessibility settings.
Note: If prompted with a Connections Optimizer message, tap I Agree.
Tap to select a language, then tap Next.
To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap the network name, enter the password if required, and tap CONNECT.
When finished, or to continue without connecting to a Wi-Fi network, tap Next.
Note: If the device was reset with Device Protection enabled, a Wi-Fi connection will be required to continue and complete the Google account authentication.
If prompted, review the warning message and tap SKIP ANYWAY.
Adding a Google account will automatically enable Device Protection. Device Protection uses your Google account to prevent others from activating your device if it's ever lost or stolen.
To create a new Google account, tap Or create a new account.
To log in to an existing Google account, enter the email address, then tap NEXT.
Note: To skip this step, tap SKIP, then tap SKIP ANYWAY to confirm.
Enter your Google account Password, then tap NEXT.
To restore data from a previous device backup, tap the preferred backup from Restore from this backup, tap NEXT, and follow the prompts.
To continue without restoring a previous backup, ensure Set up as new device is selected and tap NEXT.
To protect your phone's data, tap SET SCREEN LOCK NOW and follow the prompts to set up a Pattern, PIN or Password.
Otherwise, tap SKIP.
Note: You will be required to enter your Screen lock Pattern, PIN or Password prior to starting a factory reset of the device.
Review the warning message and tap SKIP ANYWAY.
Scroll to and tap to check or uncheck the preferred Google services, then tap NEXT.
Read the EULA (End-User License Agreement).
To continue, tap to check I agree, then tap Next.
The device will check for Firmware updates. If an update is available, follow the prompts to download and install the update.
Otherwise, tap OK.
The device is now set up and ready for use.
