If the handset is experiencing a short battery life, disabling some features and modifying settings may help.
Reducing backlight brightness and backlight timeout can improve battery life.
From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.

Leaving Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and GPS on while not in use can drain the battery faster.
Scroll to and tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to off if they are not actively in use.
Scroll to and tap Location.
Tap the Location switch to off if not actively in use.
Tap the Back key to return to the Settings main menu.
Stopping unused running services and applications can help conserve battery life.
From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Apps.
Note: Stopping unused services is an advanced battery conservation step. There may be undesirable side effects from stopping certain services.
Swipe to the RUNNING tab.
Tap the desired service or application.
If prompted, tap OK.
Tap the Back key when finished.
Note: If the option to stop is not present, the service can not be stopped.
Turning off vibrate notifications can improve battery life.
From the Settings menu, scroll to and tap Sound.
Tap to uncheck Vibrate when ringing if currently checked.
Note: If the device is currently in Silent mode, then all other Vibrate options will not be selectable. If so, tap Silent mode and then tap Off to disable it.
Scroll to and tap to uncheck Vibrate on touch if it is currently checked.
Tap the Back key.
Setting the handset to download or sync less information or less often can improve battery life.
From the Settings menu, scroll to ACCOUNTS and tap the preferred account type.
Tap the account name.
Tap to check or uncheck the Sync items as desired.
Tap the Home key when finished.
Charging the device on a regular basis will maximize the battery life.
The Charger/Connector port is located on the bottom of the device.
Plug the charger into the power socket and then connect it to the device.
The device is now configured to conserve battery life.
