Press and hold the Power key to turn the device on.
Tap English to change the default language if desired and then tap Start.
The handset will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
To connect to an available Wi-Fi network, tap the network name, enter the Password, tap Connect, and then tap Next.
To continue setup without connecting to a Wi-Fi network, tap Skip.
To sign into a Samsung account, tap Sign in.
To continue setup without signing into a Samsung account, tap Skip.
Note: To create a free Samsung account, tap Create new account.
A Google account is required to access a variety of Google services, including the ability to download content from the Play Store as well as back up and restore important handset settings.
Tap No to skip this step or to set up a new account.
Tap Yes to log into an existing account.
Note: A Gmail address is considered a Google account.
Enter the Email and Password for the Google account and tap the Next arrow.
Read the Google Terms of Service and tap OK.
Tap Set up credit card and follow the prompts to add a payment account for the Play Store.
Tap Not now to skip this step.
Read the Backup and restore message and tap to check or uncheck the options as desired.
Tap the Next arrow.
Read the Google & location message and tap to check or uncheck the location options as desired, then tap the Next arrows.
Note: To use Easy mode, check the Enable easy mode setup box and tap Next.
The handset is now set up and ready to use.
