When the handset powers on, swipe the lock icon up to unlock.
Tap English to change the language settings.
When finished, tap START.
To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap the network or tap Add network to manually set up a network.
Enter a network password if required, then tap CONNECT.
When finished, tap NEXT.
To create a new Google account, tap No and follow the prompts to create an account if desired.
To sign in with an existing account, tap Yes.
Note: A Gmail address is considered a Google account.
Enter the Email and Password for the Google account and tap the Next icon.
Read the Terms of Service and tap OK.
Read the Google services message and tap to check or uncheck the Backup, Location, and Communication settings.
When finished, tap the Next icon.
Read the HTC Advantage message and tap to select an account.
When finished, tap MORE.
Note: To skip this step, tap to select Remind me later and tap MORE.
Tap to select I want to use Get Started and tap NEXT.
Note: To skip this step, tap to select Skip and tap NEXT.
Read the Transfer or restore prompt and tap to check or uncheck the preferred option.
Note: To skip this step, tap to select Skip, then tap NEXT.
On the Accounts & sync screen, tap to check or uncheck Auto sync.
Tap to select any additional accounts and tap NEXT.
Note: To set up an additional account, tap the account type and follow any prompts to complete set up.
On the Personalize & secure screen, enter a name for the handset and tap NEXT.
Tap to check or uncheck Back up phone daily, then tap NEXT.
Read the Tell HTC prompt and tap to check or uncheck Help make HTC better.
Read the Connections Optimizer prompt and tap I agree.
The handset is now set up and ready for use
